I enjoy traveling with my wife Lynn, whether it is by
land, sea or air. Cruise ships are a favorite but going to
different events, shows or destinations in our 50th
Anniversary Edition Corvette is the best! It really has been
a way of life; meeting and making friends with so many Corvette
people from all over just can't be beat.
Another favorite activity of mine is performance boating. I enjoy
participating in Poker Runs & Fun Runs.

Harvey Smith has been the club treasurer since 1995.
He and his wife Alice own the second oldest car in the club, a 1956
Venetian Red Corvette with Shoreline Beige coves and red interior.
The car has a 265 cubic-inch engine with two four-barrel
carburetors.
Harvey is the co-owner of the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Homes in New
Castle, Newark, and Delaware City. He is also an active volunteer
with the Odessa Fire Company, and served as the company's Deputy
Chief for several years.
Harvey and Alice live in the historic town of Odessa. They also
enjoy their summer home on the Delaware Bay in Lewes

I have been happily married for 32 years and have three children
ages 21, 23, and 24.
Being a member of CCND
has brought many exciting activities and lasting friendships.
Gardening is a favorite pastime as well as volunteering at the
hospital and nursing homes.

I became
interested in cars at an early age, especially GM products, since
my father and uncles all worked in the auto trade. My
first exposure to a Corvette was at the GM Autorama on the Atlantic
City Steele Pier at 9 years of age. From that day on I
was infatuated with The Car! I finally purchased my
first Corvette 2 years ago after retiring from New Castle County
and Delaware Air Guard.
My interests range from traveling to photography,
sports, reading and home projects. I love a good
car show and visiting auto museums while traveling.
The Club gives me the opportunity to not only socialize with people
with a common interest, but also to get involved with
contributing to charitable causes.
I have been car enthusiast for as
long as I can remember, and a member of CCND since 1993.
My wife Patty and I have been married since 1972 and have one
child, Rob, who lives in Kennett Sq Pa with his wife Carrie two
Children a daughter Ryleah, and a son Shepard.
Although Patty does not share the same passion for cars as I do,
she enjoys the social aspect of the club and is involved with many
of the charity events.
My life beyond CCND revolves around golf, photography, and of
course our grandchildren.
I currently have a 1966 Mossport Green Roadster 427 / 425hp and a
2013 Cyber Gray GrandSport Coupe

I came
somewhat late to world of Vettes, but I’ve loved sports cars all my
adult life, having owned a couple of Porsches, RX-7s and even a
Fiat X1/9 that rusted right out from under me! Of course, that
first Vette (a black ’93 with the rare cloth interior, which I
purchased in ’05) spoiled it for any other sports car. I now drive
a Torch Red ’01 Z06 (the “Torch Z”).
What I’ve really enjoyed about my 8 years of Vette ownership (aside
from how awesome these cars are) is the opportunity to make new
friends and participate in some of the fun activities associated
with membership in CCND. Serving as our Newsletter editor is a
great way to share many of the Club’s diverse Vette experiences
with all of our members.
On a personal note, in 2013 year Connie and I will celebrate our
35th anniversary! We have 2 grown sons (Kurt and Kyle). I live in
Chadds Ford, PA, and keep out of trouble by working as a management
consultant in the area of Decision Analysis. My other interests
include golf and tennis, and I am a BIG fan of all the Philly
sports teams.

My
husband Doug and I enjoy working on and cruising in our yellow 1976
Corvette Stingray, which we bought in the fall of 2011. It is our
first Corvette, if you don’t count my Barbie Corvette I played with
when I was a kid in the 1960s! Doug has been patiently restoring
and repairing his “project” car and I am periodically pressed into
service as mechanic’s helper when another set of hands is
required.
Along with the Vette, we have his and hers Harley Davidsons – mine
is a 2003 100th
Anniversary
Edition Fat Boy – and like to take them on road trips, our favorite
being cruising the coast of Maine. We’ve also ridden the Blue Ridge
Parkway in Virginia and Hill Country in Texas.
Doug and I have worked in various capacities in the horse racing
industry our entire lives, having both graduated from the
University of Arizona’s Racetrack Industry Program. I am the
Director of Services for the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of
North America, the industry trade group representing 48
Thoroughbred racetracks throughout North America.
We’ve been married 30 years and live just south of Elkton. We don’t
have any kids but own a retired racehorse, who is “equine senior
citizen” at the ripe old age of 30. If you add in ongoing home
remodeling projects and the occasional game of golf, we stay pretty
busy!

My wife and I moved to Delaware in 1977 and
immediately joined CCND. We were transferred away from Delaware in
1982 but back in 1988 when we rejoined CCND. We left again in late
1990 and came back for good in 1999. I guess it is logical that I
become the first Club Historian since I have been associated with
CCND the longest of the current members.
Our “drive” Corvette is a 2002 Z06 that we purchased used with 4000
miles in late 2002. We have a fuel injected 1959 that we purchased
in 1974 that just underwent a frame-off restoration. We have
received two “top-flight” National Corvette Restorers Society
awards since the car was completed in April, 2010.
I have been a “car guy” for as long as I can remember. I am
currently restoring a 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass 442 that my Dad
bought for me in 1967. It’s the car I had when we got married and
is like one of the family. The restoration has been a slow process
but the car is almost ready to paint and then it is reassembly,
reassembly, reassembly.
As we have moved around the country, we have been members in four
other Corvette Clubs. I believe CCND is one of the best clubs in
the country.
